Ear wax is a natural substance that protects and cleans our ears. But for some people, ear wax can build up and cause discomfort and hearing issues. The most common symptoms of excess ear wax include a drop in hearing, a blocked sensation, dizziness, discomfort and tinnitus (ringing in the ears). Please note, a home visiting service is available upon request (depending on location.)
Microsuction is a method of ear wax removal. Ear wax is removed using a gentle suction and a microscope to view the ear canal and drum. It is the preferred method used by Ear Nose and Throat consultants.
Warm water irrigation, gently removes the wax by using a controlled, low pressure water jet which is angled towards the ear canal wall rather than at the actual blockage (which may push the wax deeper and cause discomfort or ear pain)
No wax removal required. If for any reason we find any area's of concern during your consultation we are able to take images and videos inside your ear canal to be sent to your GP for diagnostic purposes.
